Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr!

73 & 55! de Peter (DL6LZM @ DB0BOX)

Unlike Kelvin, I've noticed some improvement in speed when compiling for x86.
No improvement was realized on a '286, but there is a difference between the
two on a 25 MHz '386, at least here. Still, it's not worth the need to keep
2 versions around so as to be able to freely distribute the code!

The X command can be used to set a variety of options. If no argument is
given, X simply toggles and displays the new Expert status. When Expert
status is set, the initial connect messages are replaced by a compatibility
identifier line (currently [MSYS-ver-$]) and the command prompt is simply >.

If a number is given after X, this is the number of lines to display
for a R command before asking More? To continue displaying the current
message when More? is sent press return. To abort the message, type N and
then return. This facility has been added to prevent a long message from
scrolling off your screen faster than you can read it. Experiment with
different values until you find one that pleases you.
To not use this facility, set the number of lines to zero. Examples:
X 20 (pause after every 20 lines) X 0 (don't pause ever)

XF Set "fast" mode: BBS will put more than one line per packet
XS Set "slow" mode: BBS will put only one line per packet.
Note: If you have very good path to bbs, use XF. If you have a poor
path to bbs, use XS since short packets make it through easier.

The List command lists selected message headers. The following formats are
available:
L - List messages since you last used the B command
LB - List bulletins (all of them, use with care!)
LM - List messages to or from you (List Mine)
LN - List messages with type of N (List Not read or forwarded)
LO - Lists msgs older then date given as YYMMDD Example: LO 910204
LT - List NTS Traffic messages
LL # - List the last # messages Example: LL 10
LU - Lists unread messages to you
L< callsign - List messages from callsign Example: L< WA8BXN
L> callsign - List messages to callsign Example: L> WA8BXN
L@ callsign - List messages being sent to BBS callsign Example: L@ WA8BXN
L #         - List messages >= given number             Example: L 827
L # # - List messages from # to # Example: L 50 75
L"string" - Lists messages with given string in title (case insensitive)
L'string' - Lists messages with given string in title (case insensitive)
                 Examples: L'Pfb' L"ID's" l"Modem users"
Note: Messages that are Private are shown only to Sender or Addressee.
>
The R command is used to read messages that appear when you do a L command
After the letter R and a space you should enter the number of the msg
to read. To see the complete forwarding information use RH in place of R.
The command RM can be used to read all unread mail addressed to you.
You may also give more than one msg # to read: R 1424 2876 3210
If you have used the X command to set your lines per screen size, when
you get the message "More?", you can reply N to stop at that point, C
to display the rest of the message without any more pauses, or Y to continue
to the next pause (as determined by the value you set for X).
You may also type any command at the prompt which will terminate the Read
and then do the command (command can't start with C, N or Y).
RN msg#'s can be used to read text of messages only (no header info at all).
---> There is also a REPly command documented in the ?S information that
can be used to reply to messages.
>
Send command format: Sx tocall @bbs
where x is message type (P=private)
tocall is destination callsign (without - number)
@bbs is destination BBS (again without any - number) [OPTIONAL]
---> If @BBS part is omitted then if the station has entered a
Home BBS (NH command) that BBS will be used. Otherwise the
tostation callsign will also be used as the @BBS if it is
a known bbs. In general you should enter an @BBS!
If you know the state of the destination, you should add it to the
@BBS call you give, with a period between the @BBS and two letter
state abreviation.
Example: S W1XXX @W0YYY.CO
You will next be asked for a title for the message.
After this you type the message, keeping all lines less than 80
characters. When you are done with the message type ^Z or /EX on a
new line.
Use SB to send bulletins, ST to send traffic, etc. All messages
sent to a specific callsign will be treated as if you used SP (send
private). To make messages to a specific callsign readable by everyone
use SB instead of just S!
HINTS:
When sending any message to a distant destination, put the CITY, STATE
and Postal Code (if known) as the title of the message.
When sending NTS traffic use ST postalcode @NTSxx (xx is state or province).
Example: ST 44026@NTSOH
---> You may also send a message as a reply to a message on this system by
using the REPly command. You type REP ##### where ##### is the message
number you want to reply to. You do NOT specify an @BBS as it will be
determined from the message you are replying to. If you put a period
after the msg number, a title will automatically be generated for you of
the form RE: and the original msg title. You can se the REPly command to
reply to private messages or bulletins. Example: REP 12345.
>
The K command is used to kill (delete) old messages from the system.
You can kill only those messages that are to or from your station.
The format of the command is K, a space, and then the number of the
message to delete.
You can also use the command KM to delete all messages TO you that have
been read.
Use the command KT msg# to kill NTS traffic you are going to deliver.
>
The M command may be used to display the Message of the Day. Normally this
message (if not empty) is displayed when you connect if you haven't selected
Expert mode (?X for more info on Expert mode). If you have selected Expert
mode, using the M command is the only way to see any Message of the Day. If
there is no message of the day, you will simply get the next command prompt.
The message of the day will advise you of new features and other important
information.

Is it my imagination or did many of the files disappear from hamradio/

Hallo RTTY User

Installation:
Unterverzeichnis fr RTTY erstellen, 7PLUS entpacktes RTTY_C.EXE dorthin
kopieren und dann aufrufen. Es wird alles dann richtig entpackt. Danach

1 Baud Schritten. Es kann 5,(6),7 und 8 Bit Breite bertragung. Es kann alle
Formen von Stopbits (0.5, 1, 2) ... es kann ALLES.

Nur eines hat es nicht: EINEN VIRUS!
DB3DH der Gerd aus Herne!

DB3DH @ DB0SGL

Viel Spa!

Above mentioned station with callsign VRQ is frequently polluting
20 meter with spurious signals, presumably originating at a
malfunctioning transmitter. As such his signals can be heard over a
wide range of frequencies.
